This three-day course focuses on the skills necessary to maintain an ArcFM-enabled database. The course will include discussion and hands-on exercises that will concentrate on the ArcFM Solution configuration tools: Snapping Manager, ArcFM Properties Manager, and Model Names. Students will use ArcFM Solution to configure Feeder Manager, Conduit Manager, Abandon tools, and more. Native ArcCatalog tools will also be discussed as they relate to ArcFM configuration topics: relationship creation, geometric networks, table creation, conversion tools, and UML schema creation.
Prerequisites
Working with ArcFM - Electric, Working with ArcFM – Gas/Water, or Accelerated ArcFM (verification required)
Working knowledge of Visio 2003 (preferred)
Familiarity with “Building a Geodatabase” (ESRI Press, ISBN 1-879102-99-4) recommended.
Cost
$1500/person (includes three-day instruction and materials)
This five-day course focuses on customizing the ArcMap environment and extending the functionality of ArcFM tools within ArcMap and ArcCatalog. This four-day course is geared towards the designer end-user and will provide the foundation needed to effectively use the utility-based Designer software application. The Working with Designer course will familiarize participants with the tools that provide an integrated environment for preparing construction work sketches and job cost estimates. Class participants will learn how to maintain facility data and leverage the software’s extensive design-oriented functionality. More specifically, the course covers design concepts related to managing the work request life-cycle, including design, estimating, managing and working with compatible units, performing structural and network analysis calculations, generating work sketches and bill of materials, and advancing the design state. These diverse topics will be covered in detail during a series of progressive lectures, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and processed-based work scenarios. By the end of the course, participants will understand the full functionality of the Designer application and how it can best be used within a utility-specific context.

This three-day course provides a detailed overview of the complete end-user functionality offered by our out-of-the-box Responder product; a GIS-hosted, distributed Outage Management System. Course content is structured around four main modules: Responder Web Browser, Responder Explorer, Responder in ArcMap, and Responder Archive, divided into a series of sub modules covering the complete range of Responder functionality from call entry, reporting, and customer callbacks to incident management, crew dispatch, and switching/restoration orders. Conceptual lecture presentations are coupled with real world exercise scenarios based on the fictitious town of Minerville in order to provide attendees with a truly hands-on, experiential approach to learning Responder in its entirety.
The modular structure of this course allows clients to select and arrange the sections of their choosing in a 'cafeteria style' training approach with the intent of offering targeted, job-specific instruction to various groups across their organization; customer service representatives, dispatchers, operators, etc. The Telvent Miner & Miner Education Team can offer suggestions regarding section selection and sequencing for maximizing training effectiveness based on the client's intended training audiences.
Prerequisites
Strong working knowledge of Windows 2000/Windows XP. A basic understanding of core ArcMap and ArcFM concepts, functions.
Cost
$1200/person (includes three-day instruction plus materials)
(Custom Responder training specific to client data, interfaces, and business processes is also available upon request. If interested in a custom Responder training approach, please contact the Telvent Miner & Miner Education Team for details and pricing information)
