T3 Netservice A/S Selects ArcFM
Danish electric utility replaces existing utility line registration
platform with advanced GIS
Fort Collins, CO -- T3 Netservice A/S, located in Denmark, has
chosen to implement ArcFM™ as part of a comprehensive GIS implementation to
replace its existing solution. T3 Netservice provides technical operations
services for the distribution systems at three utility companies in
Denmark: Energi Horsens in Horsens, NRGI in Århus, and ESS in South
Jutland. Supplying energy to more than 273,000 customers, these three
companies combined form the third largest utility in Denmark.
Informi GIS, Miner & Miner's Danish distributor, will deploy the
solution starting this July. The project consists of five parallel phases,
including data conversion of CAD files and legacy data from their existing
system to an integrated ArcGIS 9.0 platform and the implementation of the
software. The project centers around the deployment of ArcFM on the
desktop and an intra/internet solution based on ArcIMS. The GIS data will
also be integrated with CYME's network analysis software, a SCADA system,
and other customer systems.
Flemming Grønskov, operations manager at T3 Netservice, says, Our
choice of the solution from Informi GIS A/S was strategic. We have chosen
a qualified vendor with experience in implementing ESRI's GIS and Miner
& Miner solutions in the Danish utility sector. We anticipate that the
system will contribute considerably to making the internal working
procedures and processes more effective. We placed importance on the fact
that solutions using ESRI's open standards can be easily integrated with
the company's present and future information technology systems. In
addition, the ArcIMS solution allows access to all of the facility data at
every level in the organization.
