Software and Services Contract Wins Bring
Miner & Miner's Solution to Additional Utilities

Fort Collins, CO -- Miner & Miner, the creator of the ArcFM™ Solution and a world leader in the development and implementation of geographic information systems (GIS) software for utilities, announces the following additions to its ever-growing customer base.

Costa Rica National Power & Light Company (Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz, SA - CNFL) is the main electric power distribution company in Costa Rica. The utility is implementing ArcFM, ArcFM Viewer, and Conduit Manager. CNFL services a population of more than one million with almost 350,000 customers. The utility is responsible for the supply of energy to 40% of the clients of the Costa Rican electric system and commercializes 46% of the total of the electricity of the national distribution market. The utility's services area covers about 904 square kilometers with about 2,444 km of primary lines.

Miner & Miner's ArcFM Solution was selected and procured by Space Gateway Support LLC (SGS) as a part of a major upgrade program to the electrical power system facilities at Cape Canaveral Spaceport (CCS). SGS is the "City Manager" selected to manage the Joint Base Operations and Support Contract (JBOSC) at CCS. CCS includes the partnering of NASA at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), and the United States Air Force at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), and Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB). This partnership has combined two distinct federal agencies and the blending of their assets to ensure that CCS remains the launch capitol of the world. ArcFM, Designer, Network Adapter, and Conduit Manager will be used to support interfaces to new power systems analysis software, new SCADA system, and new water system modeling and analysis software.

Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) was formed as a result of a collaboration of the Cities of Reno and Sparks and Washoe County, Nevada. TMWA is serving residential and commercial customers in the Reno/Sparks area. Truckee Meadows will implement ArcFM and ArcFM Viewer to improve the maintenance and management of their water facilities.

For Georgia-based Dalton Utilities, M&M will provide migration services from ArcFM 7 to ArcFM 8. Established in 1888, Dalton Utilities is a full-service utility. It provides electrical, natural gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications services to the Dalton community and portions of the counties of Whitfield, Murray, Gordon, Catoosa and Floyd. Dalton serves approximately 75,000 customers and is taking a very deliberate, phased approach to implementing IT systems. Ultimately, the utility will link SCADA, GIS, OMS and planning systems to help exceed quality of service to their strategic industrial base.

Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco) selected ArcFM and Designer to handle inquiries and permits related to their gas distribution network, as well as its overall design and maintenance. MESA Solutions, a partner and systems integrator for Miner & Miner, is tasked with deploying ArcFM and Designer throughout Alagasco's seven divisions. As the largest natural gas distributor in the state, Alagasco serves more than 470,000 customers in 200 Alabama cities, towns, and communities.

Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC), located in Virginia, required an open, spatially enabled infrastructure. They selected ArcFM as a replacement GIS, and as an enterprise solution for integrating to an OMS, AMR, CIS, and engineering analysis. MESA Solutions is providing the services for SEC, including data model development, data migration, systems integration, and customization.

Mid Carolina Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MCEC) is a not-for-profit electric distribution utility headquartered in Lexington, South Carolina. MCEC is owned by more than 40,000 members. It distributes electricity in Lexington, Richland, Saluda, Aiken, and Newberry counties. MCEC is primarily an urban cooperative, comprising 88% single-family residences and 12% commercial and industrial facilities. Advantica Stoner, Miner & Miner's business partner, is migrating MCEC's GenMap Data to an ArcFM/ArcGIS Geodatabase. When complete, MCEC will have in production ArcFM, Designer, and Network Adapter for interfacing to SynerGEE Electric.

Muscatine Power and Water (MP&W) is a non-profit, municipal provider of water, electricity, and communications to Muscatine, Iowa and the surrounding communities. The utility's territory covers 24 square miles, providing services to approximately 11,000 electric customers, 8,800 water customers and 7500 communications customers. MJ Harden, M&M's business partner, will implement ArcFM.

Sawnee Electric Membership Corp. (Sawnee EMC) of Cumming, Georgia, is one of Georgia's largest rural electric cooperatives with a base of over 100,000 residential and commercial customers. POWER Engineers, M&M's business partner, is providing the implementation services for ArcFM.

For the City of Medicine Hat Electric Utility, in Alberta, Canada, POWER is providing migration services from Tellus (compatible with ArcInfo 7.x) into Miner & Miner's ArcFM. Medicine Hat is located in southeastern Alberta near the Saskatchewan border. The utility operates two natural gas generation plants, 873 miles of distribution, and 77 miles of transmission.

These latest project wins have added new users to the existing large user community benefiting from Miner & Miner's solution. “These latest wins are evidence of a well-matured software solution that provides immense benefits to a diverse set of clients,” said Paul Snook, Miner & Miner's VP of sales and marketing. “We are very excited to expand our customer base both nationally and internationally and are proud to provide them with an enhanced enterprise GIS solution.”
