Kissimmee Utility Authority Successfully Upgrades to ArcFM™ Solution 9.1.2
Fort Collins, CO -- Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) went live with the 9.1.2 version of Miner & Miner, a Telvent company’s ArcFM Solution on Thursday, April 6th, just two days after the release became available to the public. The quick migration attests to both the ease of upgrading and the significance of new functionality available in this recent release. Since they will be deploying mobile technology in the coming weeks with the new Redliner extension for ArcFM Viewer, mobile Designer, mobile ArcFM, and geodatabase synchronization, KUA wanted to remain current as possible with ArcFM technology.
The community-owned utility, which serves 58,000 customers in central Florida, has been using ArcFM, ArcFM Viewer, Designer, and Responder since December 2003 to streamline operations management for facilities, outage response, and design. KUA has used out-of-the-box technology, making only a few necessary customizations to their data model, which allows for quick and simple upgrades as they become available from Miner & Miner. This past migration was completed within two 24-hour testing periods followed by a smooth rollout to internal users.
“This upgrade lets KUA leverage the benefits made available in the 9.1.2 release. Our staff will specifically profit from additional tracing and searching functionality in both ArcFM and Designer, ” said Ken Beville, GIS Manager at KUA.
KUA will also gain from modifications made to Responder, Miner & Miner’s outage management system.
Mr. Beville stated, “There are tremendous enhancements in this Responder release. With this new version, we’ve experienced a reduction in the overall time it takes to respond to an outage. The improved call entry form accelerates response time by giving customer service representatives a simplified web-based interface to log customer calls.”
