First Locally Organized Miner & Miner User Conference Takes Place in Florida
ArcFM Users support kick-off of the Florida Miner & Miner User Group
Fort Collins, CO -- On August 28, Florida users of Miner & Miner's ArcFM Solution technology gathered in Orlando for the opening meeting of FLUGMM, the newly organized Florida User Group - Miner & Miner.
The move to form a group specifically for Florida users was spearheaded by several utilities that sought to provide a forum for discussing issues expressly related to local users of M&M technology. Florida currently has more sites using M&M solutions than any other state in the U.S. Attending the conference were 30 members of the Florida user community representing 16 utilities and four business partners. The daylong event, hosted by Orlando Utilities Commission, provided an opportunity for M&M users to meet and share experiences related to their respective projects.
The conference kicked off with an introduction given by Rick Frymyer, Electric Project Manager at OUC, who focused on the overall purpose and suggested goals for the event. OUC is excited to participate in the formation and development of FLUGMM. It was really cool to meet with my peers at the kickoff meeting. There is much to be gained through this forum. As a group, we can provide our fellow users with continuous opportunities to share and learn about Miner & Miner solutions, to stay informed on new developments, and to provide input for the future direction of the technology, says Frymyer.
Miner & Miner President, Jeff R. Meyers, was invited to be guest speaker at the opening meeting, where he shared thoughts on Miner & Miner's product strategy and future directions. Says Meyers, Miner & Miner is extremely happy about the Florida User Group initiative, and with our rapidly increasing user base, we look forward to seeing other user communities join together to form their own locally organized M&M user groups. Organizing at the local level allows groups of users with common concerns to communicate issues and ideas to M&M with a unified voice.
With the growth of the M&M user community in Florida, this forum allows for a very close-knit group of users to share knowledge and experiences and to provide the kind of input Miner & Miner can leverage for future product direction, comments Jeff Carnes, Strategic Account Manager for supporting Florida. I am really grateful to Rick, Donald Terrell (City of Jacksonville Beach) and Tammy Magamoll (City of Leesburg) for taking time to organize and help make this a reality.
The User Group will be working to establish some concrete goals and hopes to meet on a semi-annual basis at sites throughout Florida.
