Miner & Miner's 8.3.2 ArcFM Solution Released

Enterprise Solution for Utilities Available with Enhanced Functionality

Fort Collins, CO -- Miner & Miner, Consulting Engineers, Inc. (M&M) announces the 11th release of the ArcFM™ Solution on ArcGIS 8 for electric, gas, and water/wastewater utilities. The 8.3.2 ArcFM Solution comprises ArcFM, Designer, ArcFM Viewer, Conduit Manager, and Network Adapter solution components. This latest version continues to augment existing functionality as well as incorporate new enhancements.

The improvements are a direct result of user feedback. The following updated components of the ArcFM Solution include:

ArcFM 8.3.2

ArcFM allows gas, water, wastewater, and electric utilities to make improvements in all critical business areas, including operations, engineering, customer service, marketing, and sales.

ArcFM 8.3.2 includes additional tool functionality. The Template Tool, which was previously only available in Designer, is now available in ArcFM. The Template Tool allows users to layout several features at one time: for example, a gas or water service drop that places the tee, the service pipe, and the meter. The Locator Tool now respects table joins, allowing a geodatabase with two joined layers (e.g., Transformer and Transformer Unit), to find only joined layers when searching for either of the layers. ArcFM also now allows the use of custom display name objects in ArcCatalog.

Designer 8.3.2

Designer™ provides an integrated environment for preparing construction work sketches, work flow management, structural and network analysis, automated layouts, and job cost estimates.

This release introduces Mobile Designer, allowing users to create and edit designs, place equipment, produce cost estimates, and generate work sketches or staking sheets in the field. Features designed in the field can be transported to the Enterprise Geodatabase and followed through to as-built and completion. Future releases will support the use of Mobile ArcFM.

Changes to documentation include improved online developer help, new online help for Network Adapter, and Mobile Designer documentation.

“The 8.3.2 release is another step toward establishing ArcFM as the leading enterprise solution. We strive to provide our clients with a state-of-the-art product line and exceed our customers' expectations,” said Mike Daniels, Miner & Miner Vice President of Product Development.
