Strategic Account Manager (SAM)

Position Summary & Major Responsibilities

TM&M has a career opportunity for a motivated person to serve as Strategic Account Manager (SAM) for the petroleum market including oil & gas exploration and production, and pipeline infrastructure. The role of the SAM is to build long-term relationships for an assigned number of existing and prospective upstream and midstream accounts. The SAM will help promote the use of GIS services and applications to customers and/or partners. The SAM must gain a thorough understanding of the clients' needs for spatial asset management and other enterprise applications and processes, and then help meet those needs with Telvent M&M and partner technology and services. TM&M will provide training in the product line and strategic account relationship building techniques.

Education & Experience Preferred

  • BS in business management, engineering or related degree
  • Previous account management or sales experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in petroleum exploration and production, gathering systems and transmission pipeline operation
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Knowledge of data integration philosophy for E&P companies
  • A desire to help organizations and individuals use our technology to improve their businesses and compete successfully in the marketplace
  • Ability to travel (about 50% of the time) domestic & international
  • Presentation and software demonstration skills
  • The ability to generate competitive strategies
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong work ethic
