QA Analyst

Position Summary & Major Responsibilities

The QA Analyst will work as part of the testing team within the product development team, and will report to the QA Manager for product tasks and direction.

The QA Analyst at Telvent Miner & Miner will focus on quality assurance through testing of internally developed software products. The QA Analyst will perform functional/enhancement testing and regression testing while following software testing principles and Telvent Miner & Miner testing procedures.

The QA Analyst will be expected to:

• Engage with development team in the early stages of requirements refinement and design for new functionality features.
• Develop test plans composed of test cases for functional/enhancement testing as well as regression testing.
• Follow established guidelines in the testing of software products.
• Identify, report and manage the lifecycle of all software defects found.
• Contribute to team improvement initiatives and projects, including team tools, process changes, and test automation.
• Assist with technical support issues for both internal and external clients as needed.

Education & Experience Preferred

• Be thorough, have good attention to detail, and display a high level of accuracy.
• Be organized, enjoy troubleshooting and possess good problem solving skills.
• Have the willingness and aptitude to learn technical processes and applications at a relatively quick pace.
• Be self-motivated and willing to work hard, but have some fun in the process.
• Possess a basic understanding of the software development process.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Be proficient with MS Office applications, MS Windows OS, and some basic Windows utilities.
• Possess a Bachelors degree or be working towards a degree.
• Possess a BS (or working towards a degree) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field with a computer emphasis.
• Prior test experience (1-3 years ideal).
• Experience with ArcGIS would be a plus.
• Knowledge of programming design or languages.
