Human Resources Manager

Position Summary & Major Responsibilities

The Human Resource Manager manages the overall functions of Human Resources services, policies and programs for Telvent Utilities Group. This position requires solid leadership by a qualified candidate with high energy and strong management experience.

  • Managing talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, policy development, performance management, and response to an investigation of compliance and safety issues, benefit and pension communication, strong onboarding experience.
  • Providing support and guidance to management on employee relations issues and coaching managers/supervisors on effective ways to motivate employees, communicate performance expectations, discuss performance issues and reward superior employee performance.
  • Leading a team of human resource professionals to deliver outstanding human resource services.
  • Coaching managers/supervisors on effective personnel management techniques.
  • Consulting with management in preparation of staffing budgets, projections, and employment policies, procedures and practices.

Education & Experience Preferred

  • 3+ years managing HR functions and staff.
  • 2 years experience in employee relations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory concerns with direct experience in investigation of claims.
  • Solid Knowledge of federal and state employment laws including: FMLA, COBRA, ADA, ADEA and worker’s compensation.
  • Solid performance management experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HR applications.
  • Experience with full-life-cycle recruitment, staffing and orientation functions.
  • Ability to influence and affect change in a professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with other departments and all levels of employees.
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-driven and results oriented with a positive outlook and clear focus on quality.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and ADP payroll.
  • Must be able to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, flexible and acutely aware of the importance of confidentiality.
